This book is part of a 12-volume series of readers (Buddies) for secondary schools in Brazil. The stories revolve around the adventures of a group of friends from childhood into their teenage years, and they deal with relevant issues for that age group such as friendship, concerns about the future, changes in their bodies, leisure and relationships.
In Treasure hunt, seven children and their dog continue their journey in a time machine. This time they find themselves on an island where pirates are looking for a treasure. They are caught and made prisoners by the pirates and their lives become at risk.
