This book is part of a 12-volume series of readers (Buddies) for secondary schools in Brazil. The stories revolve around the adventures of a group of friends from childhood into their teenage years, and they deal with relevant issues for that age group such as friendship, concerns about the future, changes in their bodies, leisure and relationships. 

Seven children and a dog continue their journey across time and this time they go the future. The kids are fascinated by the different foods, schools and sports they see in the future, but disaster strikes when Alfie, the dog, is kidnapped.
