This book is part of a 12-volume series of readers (Buddies) for secondary schools in Brazil. The stories revolve around the adventures of a group of friends from childhood into their teenage years, and they deal with relevant issues for that age group such as friendship, concerns about the future, changes in their bodies, leisure and relationships. Roman games is a story about seven children and their dog who, travelling in a time machine, end up in Ancient Rome. They arrival causes surprise to the locals and the kids are taken to the Coliseum where hungry lions await for them. How can they escape from such a threat?
